The redpill — just the word itself — is one of the most misunderstood terms on the internet. The redpill, as we know it, is not an ideology, a religion, a group, or anything like that. It is a praxeology: a set of observations and downstream best practices based on those observations. Redpill is a lens with which you view the world, just as bluepill is. Whereas bluepill is the operative state for most men — with behaviors like approval-seeking, covert contracts, and worship of women — redpill is more of an awakening. It comes with stages of grief, ending with a more grounded and positive outlook on life for those able to accept women’s true nature.
So why does it seem like an identity? Why is it that every time the redpill is mentioned, it’s attached to something some asshole did that was mean to women? Because it’s used as an attack vector against a perceived group or ideology (which it is not). No matter what group you belong to, you’ll always be judged by its worst members by people who dislike it. This applies to all groups. And let’s face it, tabloids, major news networks, or our very own Piers-Morgan-style “manosphere journalists” aren’t going to bother talking to the less controversial, more level-headed, and in some cases more intelligent creators who make redpill content — just those who wear it as a skin suit to build their brand.
Another reason it may seem like an identity is because young men, who are completely lost (or believe they are), are looking for a rope to pull them out of their cluelessness with women. They adopt this “identity” because, in a roundabout way, they believe it will deliver them a better life. Content creators feed off this by making them believe redpill is an ingroup, and women/betas/simps are the outgroup. This dynamic makes men believe they’re elite without doing the work — and that if there is something wrong with them, lifting weights and being mean to women online is all the work required. You can see why, viewed this way, the redpill makes an enticing identity to adopt for lazy and hurt men.
