Seizing an advantage after a strike
The Art of War in Dating #14
“If...in the midst of difficulties we are always ready to seize an advantage, we may extricate ourselves from misfortune.”
--Sun Tzu
Even your most self-assured internet dating guru gets rocked by women and their behavior from time to time. Do not let anyone tell you different. Any man that presents himself as invincible is probably lying to you. We all have to deal with blows and attacks from women on our ego, and sometimes it takes us off center.
Regardless of the fact that we are human and recoil sometimes when hit by female behavior, in these moments there is an advantage to always seize.
This is the basis of the “shit test” or fitness test women put us through to see if we are easily shaken. Evolutionarily speaking, this is how women would test our ability to not be swayed by outside forces, theirs being emotional and ego destruction. If a woman insinuates anything outside of your frame, your way of handling it should be playfully dismissing it, agreeing and amplifying, or ignoring.
A shit test is a term used in social dynamics and dating to describe a subtle behavioral challenge or boundary-pushing action. It is designed to evaluate a person’s emotional stability, self-confidence, and true character under pressure.
The reason a shit test, if passed, can give you an advantage is because it proves two things. The fact that she is testing you is a good sign and means she is interested. She is hoping you pass. The other reason is that it is an opportunity to increase attraction. Failing a shit test and capitulating does not automatically mean she will lose attraction to you, but it does stack up. Passing a shit test, however, is a magnitude or two more impactful in how she sees you than failing one.
Now we could spend a long time here writing down every shit test that has ever been said, but that would not be as productive as just understanding how to handle any random test thrown our way.
Despite this, I will write down the most common ones I have come across:
